Baz Luhrmann's upcoming Elvis biopic has found its stars in Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. Butler will play the titular role of Elvis Presley, while Hanks will play his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Olivia DeJonge and Helen Thomson will also star in the film as Priscilla Presley and Gladys Presley, respectively.
The film is set to begin production in early 2020 and is scheduled for release in October 2021. It will be Luhrmann's first film since his 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
Butler is a rising star who has appeared in films such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Dead Don't Die. Hanks is a two-time Academy Award winner who has starred in films such as Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and Toy Story.
