Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft said he was disappointed with his team's performance in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.

The Oilers fell 3-2 in double overtime, despite outshooting the Stars 37-29.

"We didn't play our best game tonight," Woodcroft said. "We made too many mistakes, and we weren't able to capitalize on our chances."

The Oilers had a number of good scoring chances in the game, but they were unable to convert. Connor McDavid had a breakaway in the first period, but he was stopped by Stars goalie Jake Oettinger.

Leon Draisaitl also had a number of good looks, but he was unable to beat Oettinger.

"We need to be better," Woodcroft said. "We need to be more consistent, and we need to find a way to win these close games."

The Oilers will have a chance to even the series when they host the Stars in Game 2 on Thursday night.

In other news, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) and 50/50 raffle partner, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), are proud to announce that the Oilers 50/50 raffle raised a record-breaking $10,834,580 in support of Kids in Oil Country during the 2022-23 NHL season.

The funds raised through the 50/50 raffle will support the EOCF's mission to improve the lives of children and youth in our community.

"We are incredibly grateful for the support of our fans, who have made this record-breaking season possible," said EOCF Executive Director Susan Lynch.

"Every dollar raised will make a difference in the lives of children and youth in Oil Country."
